Fajã dos Padres is located on the south coast of Madeira Island, at the bottom of a cliff in Campanário, Ribeira Brava, near the famous promontory Cabo Girão, commonly considered the highest sea cliff in Europe.The name comes from 'Fajã' (Portuguese for a landfall at the base of a cliff forming a beach-like landing) and 'Padres', which means priests, as this landfall once belonged to.
